ANISHINAABE OF THE KITCHI ZIBI FIRST NATION

The leadership of the Anishinaabe of the Kitchi Zibi First Nation (AOKFN) is grounded in self‑determination, service, and the collective will of our People. Our Nation continues to rebuild after generations of displacement, assimilation policies, and deliberate attempts by the Canadian Government to erase our identity. These historical injustices scattered our families, but they did not break our lineage or our responsibility to one another.

Today, our governance is guided by the principle that every voice matters. Nation‑building is an ongoing process rooted in research, family re-connection, and the restoration of our traditional governance systems. It is the intent of AOKFN to ensure that each significant bloodline connected to our Nation is represented at Council, strengthening unity, accountability, and cultural continuity.
